To effectively implement the 'three-year action plan' (2023-2025) for development of the exhibition economy and create an international exhibition capital in Shanghai, and support a group of internationally renowned exhibition projects that are leading in the world in segmented industries. The Shanghai Exhibition Industry Association launched the "2023 Shanghai Brand Exhibition and Excellent Exhibition" selection work in early January 2024, and released this evaluation activity to the entire industry.

In 2023, The Shanghai Exhibition Industry Association received a total of 54 host enterprises and application materials for 99 exhibitions held in Shanghai.The total exhibition area is 9.9 million square meters, over 60% of the exhibition area held in Shanghai's main venues in 2023. There were 14 projects with a scale of more than 200,000 square meters, 27 projects with a scale of 10-20 square meters, 25 projects with a scale of 5-10 square meters, and 33 projects with a scale of less than 50,000 square meters.

The expert group selected a total of 20 exhibitions to be awarded the title of "2023 Shanghai brand exhibition" from 99 projects, and selected 55 exhibitions to be awarded the title of "2,023 Shanghai excellent exhibition".

After that, Shanghai Exhibition Industry Association publicized the selected projects on the official website.
